Dear Member,
I hope everyone and their families are well and continuing to cope with the constraints we are enduring.
Cox Plate Luncheon and Call of the Card.
Notwithstanding a large amount of preparation and planning, particularly by Max Williams, the preparation deadlines for the traditional Cox Plate Luncheon and Call of the Card event have now passed. Disappointingly, neither function can be held in 2021 but the organizers and hosts are all confidently anticipating 2022 reprises.
Club Subscriptions and planned Members Function
Cancellations two years running mean a substantial loss of revenue, but we are fortunately still in a position to provide some benefits. It has been decided to waive membership subscription fees for the 2021/2022 year – if you were paid up on 30/06/2021, you remain a financial member until 30/06/2022 (N.B. this does not apply to footy tipping subs!). Further, and when it is possible to do so, we intend to provide a free members function – details coming when we know what we can do and where!
A.G.M.
We are still hoping the extensions of time and foreshadowed easing of restrictions will allow us to repeat the very successful AGM/Cocktail Party format when we are able. All documentation is in the course of lodgement and we aim to provide notices of meeting soon.
Footy Tipping
Congratulations Macca53, Geoff Croxford and John Bowman. May next season be more normal (but congratulations Demons!) – organize your family and friends to participate. There were some issues with the new ESPN website last season, so make a diary note to get in early. The more we have actually paying the small $50 entry fee, the bigger the prizes! Details on the website.
Everyone’s health and well-being are the critical factors. Be vaccinated. Let’s all continue to believe in a better future and look forward to a brighter 2022 and getting together again, shortly!
Best regards and stay safe,
Paul Haysey (Chairman)
